The Shack in the Woods (1)
When she was only four, Amanda's mother illegally gave her prescription drugs. At the age of fifteen she took herself off and struggled alone through drug withdrawals without understanding what was happening. Amanda found refuge for the worst of it by hiding in an old shack nobody had been near for over 50 years.
The Miller Miles (2)
As a teen runaway Amanda was exposed to things that most people couldn't even imagine. Four kids stuffed into a 2-seat car and drove over 1,000 miles together. Once reaching their destination, Amanda was abandoned on the side of the road and told to find her own way home. What happened afterward would never be forgotten. Amanda calls this "a true story of dishonest revenge."

What Amanda thought was her first experience with human trafficking was actually her second, but she didn't know enough about human trafficking to understand that. As a 19-year-old Amanda was abandoned in a strange city at a Greyhound bus station by her family. A young couple took her in, only to sell her to the highest bidder.

Lost April
Amanda learned to befriend people she likely wouldn't have known otherwise. Amanda's dearest friend in recent years received his second diagnosis of pancreatic cancer right before the pandemic hit. Throughout her recovery, Amanda learned to keep a daily journal and revived the practice to highlight her friend's fight to survive a second diagnosis. Sadly he passed away the same day the book was published.
Thirty Synchronized Woodpeckers
After everything Amanda had been through she would have been perfectly happy being a hermit for the rest of her life, never setting eyes on another human being for as long as she lived. So instead she became a flight attendant. This is a collection of all the funny stuff that happened her first year on the job.
Twisted Fate (Poetry)
During her recovery from the last time she was trafficked, Amanda began writing poetry as a form of coping with my emotions. The chapters in the book have the different emotions of a trauma survivor compartmentalized, just as Amanda had to do in order to survive. Moments of love, hate, happiness, sadness, strength, weakness, rage, joy, etc.
